Platte, South Dakota is an attractive and peaceful community of 1,400 residents located a few miles east of the beautiful Lake Francis Case on the Missouri River.  We have plenty of family-friendly entertainment, beautiful scenery, recreational opportunities, great hunting and fishing, and hometown hospitality.

SOUTH PARK

The newly developed South Park features playground equipment for all ages, picnic shelter, a tennis court, pickle ball court, band shelter, catch-and-release fishing pond, walking path, and a 9-hole Frisbee Golf course.

NORTH PARK

North Park is a great place to catch a game, as it has a softball field, a tennis court, and a sand volleyball court. It also has a variety of playground equipment to entertain the younger crowd. A Butterfly Garden, created by second and fifth graders from the Platte-Geddes School, attracts Monarch butterflies. Make a day of it and enjoy lunch at one of the picnic shelters.

Rover Run – Off Leash Area (Dog Park)

Whether your dog be little or small, a resident of Platte, or just a visitor passing through, Rover Run offers a place to run, play fetch, and socialize! The whole area is gated and one section is only for small dogs. The park also has a drinking fountain for your dogs so they can stay hydrated while exercising and playing.
